Help From Pat Flynn
If you have every been interested in any blog building, passive income stream making, podcasting or affiliate marketing you may have probably heard of Pat Flynn’s. His podcast has all kinds of helpful advice.
This particular episode that I was listening to was his most recent podcast where he and his guest were discussion when to stop listening/learning and when to start taking action.
This message really resonated with me because I have been stuck in the “learning” phase for years and years but really did not realize it until a rainy morning listening to his podcast in my car.
Learning More Was Not Helping Me Succeed
This really opened my eyes and made me realize that all of the learning, researching, note taking, podcast listening, eBook downloading, web surfing and YouTube watching that I was doing was not getting me closer to succeeding in becoming a professional blogger and internet marketer.
The basic concepts that I had learned about years and years before of:
- START A BLOG – (I am here to help)
- CREATE GREAT CONTENT
- MONETIZE WITH AFFILIATE LINKS
In all of the years since then, I have learned lots of little tricks, and helpful tips but really no game changing advice. It was really the action piece that I was missing.
The Perfect Mix
The podcast goes on to discussion some of the simple behaviors and disiplines to help keep you on track but the general recepie for success, in terms of percentage were:
- 50% – ACTION
- 25% – LEARNING
- 25% – REFLECTION
The podcast covers a lot more detail than I discussed here so the next time you are taking a walk or driving in your car listen to the full podcast that I have included at the top of this blog post. No More Road Block
Most of my posts are technical in nature but I decided to take a break from those type of posts and talk about this because this is a very real thing during your first year of blogging.
This is a major road block for almost everyone so I wanted to share this lesson with my readers. I encourage you to take action TODAY!
